Dr. Dennis J. Chew is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. He finished his residency in internal medicine and nephrology at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Chew taught at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine for 36 years and is now a professor emeritus.

Most of Dr. Chew’s work has been in urology/nephrology in small animals. He has a special interest in calcium metabolism disorders, treatment of renal secondary hyperparathyroidism and idiopathic/interstitial cystitis in cats. He pioneered many of the diagnostic procedures used today for urinary endoscopy in dogs and cats.
